Usability - Evaluate
Evaluation is very important to make sure the developed prototypes are standards compliant and easy to use. Using different techniques, the designs are evaluated and enhanced as often as needed. This way a high standard of usability can be ensured.
Following forms of evaluation are possible:
Heuristic Evaluation
Our usability experts analyse and evaluate the design concepts according to established heuristics aka guidelines. One set of heuristics, which are widely accepted, are the 10 heuristics by Jacob Nielson. They for example state that there should be an error prevention or that users should have control and freedom in using the interface. There are also ISO standards like the ISO 9241 or the ISO 13407 which apply to interfaces.
Our experts are familiar with all of those heuristics and standards to create a standard conform interface.
Cognitive Walkthrough
Experts “walk” through the site according to tasks potential users would do. Each step they consider how easy it is to perform these tasks concentrating on cognitive principles. A cognitive walkthrough focuses on the user, his tasks and makes sure the user can actually perform these tasks easily without confusion.
User Testing
User testing gains feedback on the interface by people actually using the website. What better way is there to test your site than letting actual customers use it. All problems they come across can be analysed and gotten rid of.
SUS questionnaire
To measure the degree of usability, the SUS questionnaire is a quick and cheap but just as effective.
Attrakdiff
If you wish to get more subjective opinions on how useful customers find your site, the Attrakdiff is a good choice. It is also possible to compare the opinions on your site to another one or make a before-after comparison of your own site.
Scenario Based Design
A claims analysis follows each scenario. Positive and negative things are found out and analysed. The goal is to enhance positive things and get rid of the negative ones.
