What does GUI Design mean?

When designing, it is important to understand the medium you are using. Designing for a screen or GUI (graphical user interface) is different than designing for a magazine. People can interact with a website and choose different platforms to display the site. Understanding this and watching GUI and usability guidelines is therefore a key element.

What are the benefits?

A benefit of making a special GUI design is that it perfectly works on a screen. It doesn't matter if you have a small or a big screen, if you're using a screen reader or a PDA. You are always able to use the site. In addition, key elements of the site such as buttons are used correctly and easy to recognize. Your site will be designed to a high standard of usability and look great.

What is part of usability design?

At first we analyse the structure of the site by different means of usability techniques. Then we sketch out interface designs and develop prototypes. We use those to evaluate the designs. These three steps can be repeated as often as needed until the desired degree of usability is reached.
