Usability - Analysis
Target Group
We'll analyse everything that characterises your site's target audience. Understanding them means understanding how the site should look and be structured.
Task Analysis
To further deepen the knowledge about the user, a detailed task analysis can be done. It analyses what actions and cognitive processes a user has to do to achieve his goal.
Use of context
If you wish to have a more detailed analysis, the use of context can fully be found out. It not only concentrates on the customers wishes but also on technical constraints and environmental limitations. Different models like a sequence model or cultural model are drawn to represent this information.
Scenario Based Design
Scenario Based Design is a special way of approaching a User Centered Design. It relies on scenarios which describe a user actually using the site. Based on these scenarios designs are made and refined.
A benefit is that scenarios are easily constructed and changed. They make it easier to communicate ideas and the degree of detail can be adjusted as wished. Usually Scenario Based Design stimulates creativity and really focuses on the user.
Persona
A persona is a description of a specific person representing the target group. The description includes things like a name, age, goals of that person, habits or preferences. Even a picture can be added to visualise the person.
Using a persona makes a target group more tangible and easier to communicate.
Problem Scenario
A problem scenario finds out what the situation is like at the moment. The created personas are used to describe a user using an existing product. The focus lies on the problems the user is having and on the things which are great about handling the product. This way good things can be kept and enhanced, bad things can be eliminated.
